She struggled against his grip.
I don't want to die, I don't want to die. She thought over and over. Thinking of the child she carried she knew she had to lie her way out of this one.
"Peter," she muttered. "I can...take you to Peter."

Her words were almost silent, the lack of air in her lungs making her plea almost inaudible, but he heard...loud and clear. Not because of his ability, but because there was something about her words that seemed so...honest.
He relaxed his grip enough that air flooded in, but did not let go.
He had to admit, the prospect of killing Peter, or maybe making him go boom again did appeal...or even the delicious temptation of that unique ability...but without his own ability perhaps he should just kill him, remove the possibility that he could attempt to stop him again, remove that itch he would always be doomed to scratch?
"And why would you do that?" He asked.

REMINGTON - THE FUTURE
Remington landed in his room at home. He had been staying in New York for school, but being the pride and joy of his mother she always kept it up for him.
He shifted to his window, and was not surprised to find his mother in her usual spot, by the poor with a nearly empty Mimosa in one hand.
He did not feel up to speaking with his father, so he decided his mother was the best approach. When she was drunk she'd talk for days, not unlike her sober self...but drunk it was even worse.
He dropped by the kitchen, mixing up a fresh Mimosa for his mother, and a bottle of Bourbon for himself. Knob Creek of course.
"Good afternoon, mother," he said with enthusiasm as he padded around the pool.
"Hello, sweetie," Elle smiled sweetly, extending her arms (though he wasn't sure it was for a hug or the drink he held in his hands). "Did I mention I'm sooooooooooooo happy you decided to spend spring break here?"
The girls on vacation were plentiful in cabo on spring break, why wouldn't he come around?
He smiled. "I had to come spend time with you. Plus for once my spring break doesn't coincide with Evelyn's so I wouldn't have to hear her sighing constantly."
"Evelyn..." Elle muttered. He could tell she was going to go off into a rant about Evelyn ditching boarding school. He felt distraction was key in getting what he wanted of her.
He wrapped an arm around his mother's shoulder and smiled at her.
"Tell me a story, mother," Remington smirked.
"Uh...what about?" Elle asked. Remington poured a little Bourbon in her drink, and Elle tipped the bottle to add more.
"Tell me the story of how you and father met," Remington said.
Elle looked at her son as if he had gone crazy. "Why would you want to know that?"
"Feeling nostalgic, Mom. Need something to take the edge off of a crazy day."
"You're so darling when you want to be Remington Gabriel," Elle smiled, pinching his cheek.
She took a deep breath. "It was love at first sight," she lied. "I knew we were meant to be, the way he looked at me. They way he made my stomach fill with butterflies...I met him at a carnival, he hung from the ferris wheel like a maniac in order to get my attention. We ended up going on a date and we laid in the middle of the street...it was a quiet night and no cars were around. I loved his adventurous spirit. We spent every day together but my father did not approve. I think the moment where I knew I loved him...was a trip to the sea...and I asked him, 'Gabriel...do you think in another life...I could have been a bird?" and he thought I was so silly, and we spoke of reincarnation...and I jumped up in his arms...I demanded he say I was a bird, and that he was a bird too...and...well, the rest is history. Two kids later and a house in Cabo...I'd say things are pretty spiffy."
"Spiffy, right," Remington sighed. Did she honestly think he'd believe her spout about birds & ferris wheels knowing what her favorite movie was.
"So...you ever call Dad...snuggle bunny?"
Elle choked on her drink. "What did you just say?"
"I was debating calling a girl that...needed your advice..."
"I...I would never call your father that...does...does he look like a snuggle bunny?"
He hands were shaking and she downed the rest of her drink and then snatched the bottle of bourbon from Remy.
"Don't say that again."
"Sorry," Remington muttered.
They sat in silence for a moment. "Mom, Evelyn's been curious about some man named Peter Petrelli. You wouldn't happen to know the name, would you?"
Elle's eyes widened. "I don't know any Italians," she muttered. For a moment she looked as if she were going to cry.
"Remington, son..." Came a voice from the back french doors. "Could you meet me in the parlor?"
Remington looked back to his mother. "Father calls," he sighed.

"Because I'd...like to live," Elle muttered. "if selling sissy boy out means saving my own skin then I'm all for it," she lied. She wasn't about to say what she was really thinking...that she felt Peter could kick Sylar's can to New Mexico.
"Will to survive."

Sylar smiled and let go of Miss Bishop. She landed on the bunk which creaked as her backside landed. Sylar twirled his finger through her hair, and smiled. "So we're settled." He said with a smile. Still unerved by the concept that he had been infected.
"Except with Mohinder shot..." Adam Monroe began, "...I will have to bring him back before he will be of any use to you. And I won't recommend you make an attempt on Peter's life when you are powerless."
"I can handle Petrelli." Sylar noted. Though Monroe was partially correct. "Where is he?" He asked, assuming that wherever Peter would be then so would Mohinder, Elle could distract Peter, Adam could fix Mohinder in the way he professed he was capable of (interesting that he had that ability too), Sylar could get what he needed and then Petrelli could be removed from the equation....followed by Adam and quite possibly anyone else in the vacinity that annoyed him.
He ran his fingers through the girl's hair again, why exactly was she here, he would save her for last.

Sylar's fingers in her hair was making her nervous.
"I say we wait for the kid to come back," Elle shrugged. "See Adam let me get snagged so I have no idea where they are, but Peter...he cares about me," she she hoped, "so he would want to see me...and...Adam...don't you know where they are?" Elle asked, realizing she was backing herself into a corner.
"We need Clark Kent or whoever that time travely kid is, and his sister, Wonder Woman...Cuz you know I'm not sure the three of us should go walking around New York to be noticed. I'm sure when my Dad comes to he'll send someone out to look for us."

Adam paused, the man Sylar glaring at him. Yes he did very well know where Peter was. Whether Mohinder's body had been taken there was a guess at most, and where they were geographically was also unknown. The boy could have jumped them miles away, states away... this was why he didn't like teleporters.
"Elle is right. At this time we will have to rely on the boy. He insisted he would return." He thought carefully. "I will deal with him, given the chance I'm sure he'll run off with Miss Bishop here for reasons of his own he's rather protective." Letting the woman know the boy was her son was not in Adam's best interests. "You," He indicated Sylar, "If you want your abilities I suggest you don't let her out your sight. As much as I am loath to admit it she is our bargaining chip with the boy."

"Oh, I'm a bargaining chip for some kid with a crush on me? I don't even know him," she soffed, folding her arms over her chest in a childish fashion.
"Who says I would let him take me anywhere?"

"I do." Adam professed.
"He being eager to keep you safe and you being eager to return to your boyfriend would be enough reason for the both of you to return to the Hotel...without us." He turned to Sylar. "She won't give up Petrelli. She 'loves' him, or so she proffessed to him in the prison we shared...the things I had to hear."

"Gossip," Elle muttered. "So shoot me," she added, her eyes widening when she realized what she said, looking at Sylar and waving her hands about. "Not literally."
She felt sick and threw herself back on the bed with a sigh. "You don't even know that he's going to come back for me. He could just be saying things. I don't know him, so he can back off. I don't need to protected or anything, I can take care of myself," she huffed.
She glared at Adam, "What do you know about love anyway."

"Enough to keep well away from it." He responded, but not wanting to 'get into' the details nor any form of conversation with the elfin girl he settled instead for folding his arms and walking away,. He was certain the boy would return, he had the look of a mommy's boy about him.
Instead of conversing while they waited he occupied himself with investigating his surroundings, he was perturbed that he found this was a Company building, or at least Company stocked...
"We should leave." He said when he had a good look around. If this loft wasn't wired already then it was as good as an open cage for the three of them, what drove the boy to bring them here escaped him. It was about as 'safe' as a pit full of vipers. And Adam had been bitten by vipers once before, he wasn't inclined to suffer it again.
He looked through drawers, finding himself a bottle of mace and a collection of blades, he also found a short, smart coat which would keep him warm (he might be able to regenerate but he wasn't partial to freezing either.) into which he slipped the items he found. He was also quite pleased to find various other 'field agent' tools; the designated tazering device, always an unpleasant thing, a pair of handcuffs and a spare gun. Sylar wasn't stupid enough to take his eyes off the girl so Adam hid the gun down the back of his belt, pocketed the tazer and returned with the handcuffs.
"Put those on." He told Sylar.
He saw the monster was about to protest.
"You have my word. Our deal remains intact..." Sylar wasn't convinced so Adam also gave him the key. "You ever seen Star Wars?" He smiled, he liked that film, "You get to be Chewbacca."
He grinned at Elle. "Alternatively you could always use them on her. Depends what your into." He smiled.

"You wont see me wearing a metal bikini anytime soon," Elle sulked. Then she though of her figure, oh geez, she was going to get fat...and possibly get stretch marks. The thought made her gag.
She jumped up. "So, Han Solo, we're just gonna march him into the Lion's Den and then what?"

Sylar was glaring at him and not playing along. "You can assume what you want from my actions" he told the man who was as comfortably untrusting as he should be. "If I was going to kill you I would have done it as soon as I realised you were powerless. I wouldn't waste my blood bringing you back to walk you into certain death ... Peter is compliant enough to believe you are not dangerous to him If you are brought to him 'captive' and seemingly usless and if Elle does as she claims and plays on Peter's libido as well as she dearly already has done, then we should be able to buy enough time to ascertain if Mohinder is ...salvagable. Going in there practically powerless and guns blazing is a folish endeavour." He regarded Sylar with an icy blue stare,"If you are half the man these people claim and fear you are then you will understand that."
He returned to Elle. "When the boy returns, which he will, our guest will play dead. The boy has an intriguing drive to keep him alive too," Adam smiled, some people thought he was born yesterday- he had understood the boy's motivation as soon as he had seen Sylar, it encouraged him. "Elle will persuade him that we, all three, should be taken to Peter. Once at the hotel we can act. If Mohinder is alive we will take enough of his blood for Sylar's gain under the ruse that it is required for Elle's condition." He chose his words carefully and paused. to ;et them sink in, as he contemplated other avenues. "If Mohinder is dead because of your actions, then Elle will need to distract Peter. You," he addressed Sylar once more. "can either kill him or flee at this point, I care little which. Powerless you are pointless to me."
He smiled at Elle, "I hope your so called 'Will to survive' is strong Miss Bishop, because If you so much as contemplate doublecrossing me then Sylar here will be the least of your enemies."

Elle rolled her eyes at Adam and then stopped, dead in her tracks.
"Condition?" Elle asked. "What are you talking about condition? I'm in no...condition. I mean I'm in perfect condition to do things like go find Peter but I'm not in a condition or...anything, if that makes sense." She was rambling, and twisting her fingers, and very close to chewing her hair.
Obviously being ancient also meant you were pretty observant. Elle sighed and gave Adam a look that could kill.
"Who is this kid? And what does he want with Sylar? Don't tell me he's on one of those kill the psycho, save the world type self righteous things...I can only handle so much of that."

After a brief chat with his father about his grades, the stock market, his sister (which he lied through his teeth and claimed he knew nothing about, though he knew his father wasn't a fool) and the weather; Remy downed another swig of Bourbon and debated his next step.
He could go back to Evelyn and help with her ridiculous quest. The ridiculous quest kept her away from potentially hazardous situations of the present...well, their present and the rest of the groups future.
He sighed. He had nothing better to do. The girls would always be tanning on the beaches of Cabo. He set town his Bourbon and headed back to 2007.
