[spoilers] Considering this is supposed to be super scary, I'm not impressed. The monsters are pretty bad, the ethical issue dealt with before, and the crucial information blurted out in the first ten minutes meaning there was no build up or suspense. We don't become emotionally involved with the characters because we know they are going to die from the start, and so i felt alienated from the show. This left pointless running up and down corridors and some mediocre cgi external shots. I was bored...The idea was a fantastic one, and so much could have been done with it. But seriously what was I expecting? It's an RTD episode. Whats irks me... who sends a 60 year old to Mars? No space agency with half a brain thats for sure. why did it take so long to work out to heat it? i worked that out about 10 minutes in and i failed chemistry. the doctor needs a companion, sh!tty flashbacks to a computer screen just don't do it for me. david tennant as gorgeous and charismatic as always, though if anyone should know to obey the laws of time its him. After all, he is the last, there is no one left to clean up the mess if he screws up time. he should be extra careful. god complex me thinks... though i feel his new found dislike of obeying the laws of time is going to lead to some trouble... whodovoodoo knows what i mean. oh and is it me, or did they intend to show this next week? ps does this mean the reapers are coming?

Notes
1) wearing the suit... i thought he could breath? why is he there exactly? 2) he's about as russian as I am 3) robot is not scary. And of course Martians speak english. Credtis roll - not that fussed so far. 4) "the Doctor, Doctor, fun" HILARIOUS. So the answer to (1) above is just 'for fun' 5) ummmm carrots, an underestimated vegetable 6) He has wikipedia in his head? Thats sort of annoying 7) i think i left the tap running 8) the crazy eyes make my lol 9) I can take of leave the flame driven robot 10) and the aliens that run like action men 11) lol "bikes!" 12) the american kid looks like matt smith 13) okay...if this is fixed in time, and she's there because she saw a dalek... and the moving of earth to the otherside of the universe wasn't a fixed point (and was a bit of a surprise to the Doctor)...that's a little counter-intuitive 14) i haven't yet mentioned yet how cool it is that that dude from neighbors is in it. I fancied him when I was a kid. 15) okay, third time, "bikes!" is less funny 16) sad doctor standing with his suit. I feel an avatar coming on. 17) why do I feel like I need the loo 18) am I the only one shouting 'do something' at the telly during the slo-mo opera bit 19) quickly followed by "nooooo, don't walk away"...that's the saddest Who shot in history 20) Awwww Pompeii *sad face* 21) "your death creates the future", alternatively she could, you know, live... and then basically tell her granddaughter she's going to create the future (that would sort of inspire me). 22) I find myself why the '27' thing is important, RTD has mentioned it twice... 23) that child is about as german as I am 24) If you squint, as the Doctor is walking away, the lights make his face look like a skull... that's really cool. 25) Ok. this is not scary, it's plain depressing. 26) not sure what the flash back is about, is he meant to be breaking his own rules or something. 27) FINALLY! (nice entrance - DT looks excellent backlit) 28) OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I like that speech! (suspect that there is the beginning of the end) 29) OOOOOOOOO 30) Yup. the robot is still annoying. (who else feels a christmas toy coming on) 31) Okay, he looks like he's lost his beans. Suggested next role for tennant: Dr Frankenstein. 32) Always looks good surrounded by flames. 33) Where's he delivered them 1852? 34) *wishes he would catch ice flakes on his tongue* 35) I have a funny feeling something will happen to here. She'll get hit by a bus or something. 36) "can inspire her face to face"... I feel I suggested that (21) ... I could totally be the doctor. 37) oooooooooooooooooooooo (low growly oooo). I smell dark-side doctor. nomnomnomnom* 38) see 35 39) random ood? snowy knees. 40) who else here wants to give him a big hug?
Trailer DONNNNNNNNNNNNNNA!

Overall review: Slow to start, I feel the full hour long format was too long, too much postulating and not enough mad doctor. I like the Doctor breaking his own rules, been waiting for that for a while. Overall three and a half mad-eyed doctors out of five.

Ok its been pointed out to me that i always write crap reviews, and why do I keep watching. Just so you know, I love the concept of Doctor Who, and some of the episodes have been fabulous. Every time I see a teaser or a trailer I get so excited, and my mind conjures up great things that might happen. Then it never pans out. It never meets expectations. There is so much potential in this show, so I always feel disappointed when they slack off and write 45 minutes of running around, with only 10 minutes of plot.
The idea at the end, of the Doctor and his God complex, ok, it's a good idea, and perhaps a long time coming, and I seriously look forward to the repercussions of this, BUT it was tacked onto the end of 45 minutes of drivel. Drivel which had been so hyped up as scary, that I was doubly disappointed when it wasn't. Had they scrapped the first 45 minutes, given us characters we knew, or got to know, someone that we can connect with as the Doctor was connecting with them, perhaps the transition to all-powerful-slightly-insane-god-mode-doctor would have been easier. Instead there was nothing. Slopping writing, poorly executed. It was almost as if they came up with it after they had done the episode, and gone "Thats cools, but we need to shove it in here so its ready for the next special." That's whu I don't like it.
