01/01/10 - BBC1 6.40pm
The Doctor faces the end of his life, as the Master unleashes the greatest terror of all.
Having just watched my entire back catalogue of New Who, I would like to point out the vast amounts of prophecies that never came to be. BUT, and it's a bit but, they always say "at the end of time" which when you consider that the Doc saved the day in each episode, might not be a reference to that episode right there.
I shall point out that in the Series 4 finale, Dalek Khan said that at the end of time, one of the Doctor's disciples will die. Now, we assumed they meant Donna dying in a figurative way, much in the same way that Rise "died" at the end of Doomsday. But I should remind you that the special on New Year, is called The End of Time. I have a feeling some prophecies might just come to pass.
Any guesses on who?

Personally, I wouldn't describe any of the Doctors companions as 'disciples'. The only person I would consider more of a disciple than a companion would be Wilf...
Don't kill Wilf! I love old Gramps too much for him to be given the boot!

SPOILERS
oh dear... i had high hopes for this one, last weeks being actually quite good. But of course... good things never last. Sometimes I think RTD just makes it up as he goes along rather than plan anything in advance. There were so many imaginative way he could have brought back the Time Lords, instead he chose to piss all over the classic doctor who canon, and even his OWN canon. i could just slap him.
the sprout people had a larger role than expected and that was a nice surprise, though they did save the doc much as expected. doctor/wilf moments were classic. sad donna didn't have a larger role. doctor/master moments also quite good. plot was rubbish.
as for what killed him... i kind of liked it. it wasn't as dramatic as i thought it would be, yet i think it fitted. loved that he went to say tata at the end, very sad... though it did go on a bit. by the end i was kind of egging him on to hurry up and die... not something i would ever expect to say about tennant doctor.
as for matt smith... to me he seems like a tennant clone. granted you can't tell much from the few moments he was on screen, but the mannerisms, energy, hell even the voice was much like tennant. i hope he takes the role and makes it his own, that's the whole point of doctor who. however i have this feeling that they are just trying to replace fabulous doctor rather than make a new one.
as for david tennant, i love him, he was the best doctor ever, and i hope they bring back the clone doctor one day for some double trouble fun.
