Tosh sat at her desk, trying to ignore Owen's shouting and complete disregard for respect for the deceased. The delicate rushing sound of the fountain's water had her focussed and mesmerised at the same time. The many tasks that Jack had left her with had kept her busy but now she was tiring of staring at a screen all day. Recently, she'd had a taste of tantalising action and wanted more. She was fed up of being the 'behind the scenes' girl. She wanted to feel the adrenaline coursing through her veins at a good chase. Cracking another puzzle again and again was getting too easy. She needed to get out.

Jack shuffled through the papework and then the files on the computer. Owen had the cheek to yell at Ianto yet he'd had no reports back and there were a few two weeks old. Owen was nutorious for not doing paperwork but it had gotten even worse since the incident with the Weevils.
"Owen," Jack called exiting his office. "There are reports needing done. I suggest you make yourself busy,"

The Doctor gaped, frowned, and eventually shook his head. "Rose, we're here because I picked up on a signal. Well, not a signal per se, I felt it. There is a rift in Time somewhere in this city. I have to know where it comes from so we can repair it." He gave her a lopsided smirk. "Don't look at me like that, you can always go shopping after we're done. Shouldn't take too long, don't forget I'm brilliant and you're lovely, best combination ever!"
The Doctor jumped forward on the cold asphalt, pulling Rose after him. It had obviously been raining. They walked into the small streets until the sound of heavy circulation and honks reached their ears. "There you go!" He shot forward, running to their next adventure like he always did. Rose was laughing. He liked that sound. A lot.
They came out onto a busy artery. The Doctor bounced again, pointing at the taxis. "Look at that! New York taxis! Oh I love it, it's brilliant!"

She burst out laughing at his childish ways, not caring that he looked so odd jumping around in the busy streets.
"Bright yellow, can't miss them. I hate the private hire taxis you get at home sometimes, never able to tell that's what they actually are." She looked around, her eyes wide, drinking in the surrounding sights. "It's brilliant, I always wanted to come to New York."
She turned round in circles slightly, looking up at all the tall buildings. Yelping slightly, she fell into the Doctor.
"Okay, remind me never to turn round in circles that fast again," she laughed, placing her hand on her head. "Dizzy."

Evelyn tucked a strand of long blonde hair behind her ear as she scanned over the paper. The sun was setting and a cool wind blew, causing her to tighten her cardigan and lower her paper to rub her hands together.
She was beginning to get frustrated, she was exhausting her search already and she had only been in New York City for 6 hours and forty five minutes.
It seemed no one knew of the 'bomb' that exploded over the skyline a couple months prior. No one knew of Peter Petrelli and no one dare touch the subject of special abilities.
She took a bite of her Gyro and up at the cafe table's umbrella as the cloth whipped in the wind.
It was a series of dreams that lead her here. Mysterious, haunting dreams of a man named Peter Petrelli. He brother mocked her, told her she was crazy but in the end he persuaded her to go. More as a dare than anything.
She brushed her bangs from her face and curled them behind her ear, grabbing her venti latte and the paper as she shifted her purse on her shoulder and started down the street.
Obviously, she was looking in all the wrong places.

Owen arrived at the top of the stairs, just in time to hear Jack shouting about reports, glaring in his direction, he thrust his index finger sharply up in the air.
"Wrong finger," commented Jack smugly.
Owen flashed him a fake smile, "Polite version- ladies present."
Then marched of yelling for Ianto at the top of his voice

Ianto sighed and decided to make himself useful after spending five minutes staring into space. It wasn't really enough time to reflect on things, but he'd need to stay awake all night if he wanted to think through why he had taken this job. He much prefered sleep anyway. Dreams full of wishful thinking and memories of Lisa, it was the safest place to be. "I'll get right onto it," he muttered to himself.

"I have an assignment for you," Bob Bishop said as he cleaned his glasses. He placed the on his nose and squinted up at Niki Sanders who stood prim and proper in her new tailored power suit and her hands clasped together.
"I am sending you to Cardiff, Wales to investigate a man I hear goes by Jack. We are short on details but we received a notification that he was worth checking in to."
He pulled a folder from one of his drawers and tossed it on the desk. "In that file is everything you need to know. Location, where to observe clearly, things to note. If you accept this assignment your plane will leave in forty five minutes and there will be a rental car waiting for you when you arrive."
Niki opened the file and stared at a picture of a dashing man. She did need to get the hell out of this place, even if it was on assignment.
"I accept," Niki nodded. The sooner she did all the tasks he provided, the sooner she could get back to her son.
"Good, good," Bob grinned. "Go ahead and pack your things then. I'll call you a cab."

“Owen!” Gwen called after him as he marched away from Jack’s office. “I need some of your medical records. For Torchwood case 453.” She informed him, reading from the front of the file.

"Owen!" Jack called. "Cut the crap and do the paperwork," He glared at him. He was getting fed up with Owen's attitude. "And for once in your life ask him nicely!"

A small pair of hands ran themselves over his stomach. He pretended to be asleep and she zapped his middle causing Peter Petrelli to sit bolt upright and yelp a little.
He bit his lip.
"Ow!" he said with a slight smile, "Hey stranger." He said, moving to sit up.

"Nicely!" Gwen scoffed. "Owen doesn't know the meaning of the word." She told Jack sending a glare in Owen's direction.

look Finishing his poke of chips Claude leaned over the rail and looked out over Cardiff bay. He was about to chuck the paper into the water but thought better of it and threw it into a nearly full litter bin that was on a post nearby.
Claude followed his nose and ended up next to the Millennium stadium and smiled. He liked football best but Rugby was a great game too. He walked slowly as he approached a fountain. His eyes watched the water dancing and then something else caught at his eye.
Still invisible he was aware of many things going on around him and this particular spot felt different. He moved on and off an area and knew something wasn’t quite right. He couldn’t put his finger on it.

The Doctor turned around just in time to see Rose waver and catch her in his arms, steadying her. "When this is over I'll take you to Hong Kong, 6089. There you will see heights! But for now..." He grabbed her round the waist and waltzed them both down the sidewalk, oblivious to the shouts of protestation that rose in the crowd they were breaking. He had eyes only for her smile.
Then, he remembered he had business to do. He released her and strode down the avenue to the next newsstand. Maybe there was something in the papers. One of the things he had learned with humans was that they wrote down every single thing that happened in their lives, even the most insignificant one, or so they thought. That is to say from the creation of newspaper, which was damn useful sometimes.
He stopped at an ATM machine and took his sonic screwdriver discreetly. The next minute they were buying ten different newspapers, the Doctor nodding enthusiastically at the bemused seller.

"And he's not been doing the reports. Don't think I haven't noticed," Jack said loud enough for Owen to hear. "If he keeps it up I'll have to start docking his pay,"
