He would have to figure out a way to deal with Owen. It was the middle of the day and he decided to go up onto the roof to think.

The Doctor tried to open three newspapers at once, and settled for two facing the impossibility of the task. Rose looked shifty. "Anything!" He grinned brightly. "Anything out of the ordinary." He began to walk, several sheets folded under his arms and the two opened still in front of him, barging carelessly into the sea of executives and models running around.
"2007!" He exclaimed, not even turning to see if Rose was following him. "What a brilliant year. Did you know that the clouded leopard of Borneo had been taken for the clouded leopard of Southeast Asia until then? Brilliant discovery, that. Who would like being taken for another species! And Al Gore won a Peace Nobel Prize! Wait, has that even happened yet? What month are we?"
He turned one of the newspaper in all senses trying to get hold of the date, loosing the ones under his arm by doing so. They were quickly blown by the wind, but he didn't notice, absorbed that he was. He stopped suddenly in the middle of the sidewalk, provoking some more shouts around him. He hit his forehead with the palm of his hand and exclaimed: "Tea! We need tea! I can't think without it."

Tosh smoothed down her jacket and paused the programme she was working on, pocketing her phone as she stood and walked to Owen, "Well? What is it? What's so important you had to interrupt my translation programme?"

The Master, under the guise of Harold Saxon, paced back and forth on the tarmac of the air strip. His plane would be here any minute now. Or it better be. As he was telling his secutary down the phone, if it didn't show up very soon, the pilot may find himself in a boiling pot. The blond on the end of the line laughed nervously and hung up, ensuring him she would make some calls. She didn't realise he wasn't joking.

Rose watched as all the newspapers flew away, holding tightly onto hers. She stifled a giggle as one sheet flew into a busy looking executive.
"Do New Yorkers have tea? I thought coffee was the big thing here?" she wrinkled up her nose. "I hope they have tea." She moved closer to the Doctor as more people pushed past her. "God, so rude this lot. Don't they know common courtesy?"

Ianto watched Jack carefully as he left the room, deciding to follow him. He'd have a much more cival conversation with him.

"Eveeeelyn, oh Evelyn," came a taunting tone from a side street as she walked. She paused, rolled her eyes and felt two strong arms pull her off the main street.
"Heya, Sis. How's the expedition going?" A dark haired young man with a devious grin questioned.
"Back off, Remington. Go home," she muttered.
"Why? And miss the free entertainment?"
"Don't you have some tramp on vacation to take advantage of back home?" Evelyn sighed.
"Nah, isn't spring break yet. Leaves me pretty bored. It's sit at home and watch Dad sip his bourbon and tinker with things, or listen to Mom bitch about her yoga instructor OR, the best option, follow you around and laugh when you're unsuccessful in your pursuits. Personally option C works best for me."
Evelyn shoved her younger brother in the chest. "Well it doesn't work for me!" Evelyn snapped.
"Temper, temper little girl!" Remington gasped. "That Peter Petrelli guy is most likely dead. Why don't you go get yourself a cheesecake and just forget the whole thing...travel to Los Angeles or something, have some Tofu."
"Shut up, go home. I don't need you around to taunt me."
"Truth is, Evie. I don't want to be around to hear Dad hollering when Saint Francis's School for Girls gives him a ring and let's him know you're not around."
"Daddy can deal," Evelyn muttered.
"Aw sis, you're darling when you get huffy. Come along, I'll buy you a slice of cheesecake, maybe a new pair of shoes and we'll forget about that Peter Petrelli guy," Remy stated, wrapping an arm around her shoulder.
Evelyn pushed away. "Remington if you go not leave me alone I will zap that smirk off your face."
"Temper, temper. Fine. I'll check up on you in a little bit. I'm sure Dad is gonna have a bitch fit any moment," Remington said adding an eyeroll before squinting and disappearing into time itself.
Evelyn sighed and moved from the alley. Her first step was finding someone, anyone who knew who Peter Petrelli was. But where would one start looking?

Owen gave her the most winning smile he was capable of, his voice pitched slightly higher, he gave Gwen on final glance just to be sure she hadnt spotted him, "Tosh, I need you to do something for me." Toshiko stared at him stunned, her eyebrows slowly raised, she said coldly,"And what might that be Owen?"
Owen blinked, shook his head rapidly, "Oh.. no... I didnt mean, I mean your not... well your very... but your not my... Im sure lots of other men... not that I dont... um..." he waffled back, desperately looking for safe ground, and failing dismally.

There was a warm breeze that blew past him as he stood on the roof. Jack looked out over the water, it glistening in the sun. He always came up here to think. It was like the world's worries and problems didn't affect him here. Neither did his own. He sighed hands in pockets and let time slip by.

Peter put his head back, letting Elle 'play'. He could hardly complain, the only physical contact he had had for a week had been the burly arms of Paul.
In the kind of prison he was in, no windows, no natural light, no company apart from when he was delivered dinner and medication...the playful touch of a perky blonde could hardly be unpleasant.
Still.
He was leaving, it was bad to lead her on. He wanted to tell her so badly. He just didn't know how.
"No one deserves to be treated like a kid." He said, the words coming out of his mouth a substitute for, 'I'm leaving'.

Tosh laughed lightly in spite of herself, "Oh come on Owen, out with it or I'll tell Jack on you. Dob you into the Headmaster, to all intents and purposes. Now what is wrong?"

"I don't think they do," the Doctor answered absently. He took her hand and dragged her to the next café, eyes still fixed on the one newspaper that had survived his devastating energy and the wind of New York city. He almost ran into the door, but mercifully the person getting out held the door just in time for them to rush in.
They sat down at a table beside the window, free of the crowd at last. A waitress came at the table, looking unimpressed. "Do you have Sorboreal tea? Ah no, that's 4090. Do you have tea at all?" The waitress blinked. "Fantastic! Two teas please." He turned back to Rose. "I don't think we'll find anything in there..."
He dropped the newspaper on the chair beside him and glanced at the busy avenue behind the window. "Life in all its glory. Which one of them is the one we are looking for?"

Owen cleared his throat, "I need you to get into the system and... just a couple of days and then I`ll be up to date, honest, and I wont ask again," innocent wide eyes blinked back at her.

The pilot looked worried as he came out onto the top step to beckon the Master inside. The Master gave him a cursory glare as he climbed the stairs and dropped himself into the nearest armchair. He loved flying in style.
He didn't know what the disturbance was that he felt, but if there was something or someone playing around with the fabric of time, he wanted them on his side. If he could get them on his side, then he wouldn't be trapped in this one time, having to go about his daily business like a human being. Though he loved the feeling of ultimate power that he had searched for all his life, it felt like a hollow victory with no Time Lord to see it, and no way out of this place. Human life was not for him. He was better than that.
The engines began to rumble beneath him, as the plane taxied down the runway, turned round and then accelerated into the air. He'd be in New York by day break, and he would find what ever it was causing this disturbance, and he would harness their power.

Sneaking out was way too easy and a little disappointing, she was hoping for some high action, ducking and rolling through corridors, movie worthy sneaking. But instead it was as simple as walking out of the room and closing the door quietly behind her.
Claire frowned, nothing was as exciting as she had imagined. Okay, so maybe she had let her imagination run away with her. She had only been cooped up inside for a few days, she had gone with her dad to get coffee the other day but it was hardly the same when she had to stick close to his side and if anyone asked, her name was Claire Butler. Honestly, did he think she was stupid?
She let out another sigh as she started to walk along the streets, she had the whole of New York to explore before her dad found out she was gone and grounded her for life - that did not sound threatning in the slightest, she was already kept inside like she was grounded - Besides the walk would do her good, it meant she could think of things other than Peter and that night.
