Thats where mine came from, think its a region 0, we used a remote control hack that turns the dvd into region free, its not hard to do and doesnt damage anything, find the make and model of your dvd and go here, should be able to find the hack that will work, then off you go. www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks

if you want it to run on your computer, you can get it on any region and download dvd43, which is freeware, and will make your computer regionless. i have some canadian dvds, so i have it and its very good.

I have Othello & although it's listed as Region 1 on amazon.co.uk it seems to be region free/0 as it plays perfectly on all my DVD players; same with my 'Region 1' copy of Heart - both were sealed DVDs so I know they were genuine.

I do have a region free player but both Othello & Heart also play on the computer's DVD drive & the DVD recorder neither are region free. I've checked both DVDs & I can't find any region coding information at all on either of the discs or the covers.

thats weird... i know my copy of othello isnt actually a dvd its cdv though it is a proper copy. apparently they used to do those before they did dvd and they are quite common in the orient still. maybe yours in on one of these as they tend to be region free, and my computer cant tell the difference...
